Everything That Was Announced at Destination D23

Destination D23 just concluded and Disney did not disappoint with the major announcements made! These announcements include park expansions, changes, and new offerings coming to the parks and cruises.

Figment

Figment is now meeting guests at Epcot! Stop by the Imagination Pavilion today to say hi to everyone’s favorite imaginary friend.

Moana Epcot Water Journey

With Cast Member and Annual Passholder previews going on throughout September, it was only a matter of time before Disney gave us an opening date for Epcot’s newest addition.

Beginning October 16, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, will open to everyone. Plus, Moana will arrive and make her first appearance at her own dedicated space in Epcot.

Test Track Reimagine

Sticking with the Epcot announcements, Disney revealed a major surprise announcement. Test Track will undergo another reimagine! There is still no date for Test Track’s closure or reopening date.

Soarin Over California

Soarin’ Over California will return to Epcot as part of the Disney 100th Anniversary Celebration on September 22 for a limited time! No end date as been announced yet.

Luminous Epcot Fireworks

To conclude the Epcot announcements, Disney shared with us the name of the all new nighttime spectacular headed to the park. “Luminous The Symphony of Us” will debut on December 5.

Hatbox Ghost

A new ghost is materializing at the Magic Kingdom. The Hatbox Ghost is coming to Walt Disney World’s Haunted Mansion in late November.

Tortuga Tavern

An all new Pirates of the Caribbean themed lounge is coming to Adventureland! It is set to continue the story from the beloved attraction. More details on this will come in the future.

Country Bears

The Country Bear Jamboree is getting new songs and the bears will be performing an all new act next year. While the bears will keep the same fun tone, they will be performing renditions of favorite Disney songs.

Animal Kingdom

Theme park expansions are coming! Pictured above is an all new concept art of Animal Kingdom. This area will be replacing Dinoland U.S.A. and will be referred to as “tropics America.” Taking inspiration from South America and Central America, the land will feature popular movies like Encanto and Indiana Jones.

Magic Kingdom will also be undergoing Disney’s biggest expansion yet. The park will grow from the land behind Big Thunder Mountain. It is set to be a bigger area than New Fantasyland and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Dates on these expansions have not yet been set. They are still in the very early stages of development.

Zootopia

A new Zootopia show is headed to Animal Kingdom. It will replace It’s Tough To Be A Bug and take place in the Tree of Life.

Star Tours Ahsoka

Ahsoka will become part of Star Tours next spring. New adventures are headed to Hollywood Studios, Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

Marvel Ride

Previously, Disney announced Avengers Campus in Disneyland will be receiving a third attraction. The attraction will feature just about every super hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be a different adventure with every ride. Pictured above is the vehicle guests will ride in.

Disney Adventure

With the Disney Treasure getting unveiled earlier this week, Disney Cruise Line kept the announcements coming this weekend! The Disney Adventure is the new ship joining the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. It will be Disney’s first ship to sail from Singapore to Southeast Asia.
